Last week I came up with a meal plan for a week for us, and I was able to fulfil the plan for the most part just by using the ingredients that I had and by making a spreadsheet. Most of the meals cost me about 10 dollars total, if that, so one week of food would be about $100. Somehow we do manage to spend more at the stores, more like $500 a week. We have to work on our budgeting for food, so this is my first effort in that direction. I am using a meal plan in order to be able to plan my day better, stack my dinner chores or do them ahead of time. We usually don’t make freezer meals, and cook every dinner mostly fresh from scratch as this is our habit. Now with the baby in the house, this meal plan will help a lot to plan my day better.
