Today has been a fairly long day –

– the girls had the last day before spring break at school. S had a pajama party, and A will finally have some break from studies for a few days – she needs it.

– in April we are starting swimming on Sat and Sun. Can’t wait!

– we will be going to an Easter egg hunt, probably in 1 week. A usual question for me – when is Easter, I never know. We are planning to color eggs this year. Here is a link I am going to use – http://www.bhg.com/holidays/easter/eggs/natural-easter-egg-dyes/?socsrc=bhgpin041114naturaleastereggdye&crlt.pid=camp.KjU41GrppHjJ

– A made peanut butter cookies today. We filmed the whole process – it will be fun to watch some day as a home video when we are very old. The cookies turned out delicious even though we barely had enough peanut butter to spare.

– I have got so far a few free items this week. I am going to get them soon, so far I just know I got them. I won a prize pack from Barbara’s cereal that I am still waiting to even know what it actually is. I also got a new Voxbox with some Carefree samples coming for me. I have signed up for 3 Allure boxes today, though I am not sure if I am actually going to be able to get them or not. I think this is some kind of coveted item, and they will announce some time later whether I got in or not. We have also signed up to receive a free butterfly garden kit. We have a butterfly sanctuary, now we have to wait for this kit, and we will be all set.

– I have tried Melt sample that I cashed my coupon in for. It is a really great spread. Here is a set from Melt that I received in mail this week. This was a contest prize, and it includes an apron, a spreading knife, a cutting mat, 3 coupons for free Melt, and 15 $1.00 off coupons which I am not sure what I am going to do with. photo 1 (1)

– I haven’t been shopping a lot this past week. I didn’t really need anything. I bought quite a bit of meat on Monday or Tuesday – not sure now, and that lasted me the whole week. We still have a lot of frozen meat, and frozen items from Costco that we usually get, so I have to try to structure my meals around those items in the coming days. I want to clean out my fridges of all the foods that need to be eaten soon, and I have so many potatoes to eat it is not even funny. I love potatoes, of course, so I will try to incorporate potatoes into my meals this coming week a lot.

– Here is a list of vegetables and fruits I will be receiving this week in my weekly box –

I have to try and incorporate these into my meal plan for next week to make sure I am not wasting anything, and I am prepared. Next week my kids will be home, so I should try to make some meals with them, and I hope they can help me, and enjoy meal preparation together. That will be fun!

– I have some money accumulated in my online wallet system, and I was thinking about ordering some subscription food boxes, but they all seem so awfully overpriced for the amount of food you are getting, and all the ingredients are only measured for 2-4 meals for maybe 2-4 people max, and it is just not worth it.
