Today was the last day of my kids’ break, and we just spent it at home unwinding after a week full of activities, and the kids trying to get the best of the fun day playing together. It was raining for a good part of the day so we did not really want to go outside, and it was cold, too. I played with our baby a lot, and also looked through stuff online a lot.

I have been doing a lot of surveys and fun little tasks today through various websites I visit. I like a few of them, but I am yet to see the earnings from them.

We are still going through the produce that we have received this week, and I wanted to make a post about what I am doing with the vegetables and fruits this week, but by the time I got around to it I have already eaten half of everything with my family. The same goes for my food planning – by the time I am getting to planning my meals this week properly, I am already down to the freezer stuff, so I am not doing as well as I would have liked this week. The time is just not on my side I think.

However, I did stick to my planning this week for the most part in terms of meals. Up to Tuesday, then we had a pizza dinner at the skate deck, yesterday we ate grilled Costco salmon (and we ate all $21 worth of it), and today we have had pork chops and Costco hotdogs. Those were filling!

Here is what fruits/vegetables I still have and what I am planning to whip up out of them over the weekend –

russet potatoes – make boiled potatoes, and gnocchis


cucumbers – quick pickle those

1 orange – for snacks

1 pint of tomatoes – make Rachel Ray’s sauce I saw on TV (also need red onions, celery, garlic, sugar and vinegar for that – and find the recipe!)

0.5 lb of mushrooms – will eat for dinner tomorrow

some spinach – use for smth important!
