I usually make baby food at home just out of what I have on hand. I receive fresh product of organic fruits and vegetables every week, so I always have some on hand, and I use store bought vegetables and fruits as well.
This week I had some nectarines, carrots and blueberries on hand, so I made some for the baby. I boiled carrots, nectarines and blueberries until the carrots were tender, then zapped it all in the blender. The resulting mix turned out amazing! I tried it myself and couldn’t believe how good it was myself! The reason I added blueberries was to add some sweetness so that the mix is not that tart. I have to say that the mix was so good you could actually eat it yourself, the color was also very bright and great! Try it out for your baby!
1 nectarine, chopped
2 carrots, medium sized, chopped
a handful or two of fresh blueberries (or frozen if you like)
water – about 1.5 cups or so
I also made some soup for the baby – I just added two chicken thighs, carrots, onions, black peppercorns, bay leaf, green garlic and let it boil for some time. Then I took the peppercorns and bay leaf out, took all the meat off the bones, added the meat carrots and liquid broth to the blender. I also had some broccoli left from dinner, and I put a few florets in my mix in the blender as well. Then I zapped it all, and got some homemade chicken soup for the baby. She enjoyed it!
