Today I have received a new parcel with a beautiful Baltic amber necklace for a review. This particular necklace is actually a teething necklace for my baby! And the baby loves it! She has actually been holding on to the necklace for the whole day today! She is growing up to be a girly girl already!

She actually started yelling so loud when I showed the necklace to my other daughter. She knows that this is her teething necklace!

I am impressed there is this great product available for children to use. Our baby has been pretty cranky for a few months now due to teething. We have a few toys for her to use for teething, but this necklace looks so beautiful and is all natural.

I know a little bit about Baltic amber. Amber is plentiful in the Baltics. It is a great natural product that is generally popular in Russia and post-Soviet states. People attribute lots of health-related qualities to amber. I had some thyroid issues in my teens, and I was made to wear an amber necklace. Supposedly, it was going to cure my thyroid. I am not sure how much of it is medically true, and how much of it is old wives tales, but the fact of the matter is that amber is beautiful, has this certain glow about it, is warm to wear, and is certainly not harmful in any way.

The part that concerns me a little with teething necklaces in general is that in the small chance that the necklace were to break at the ends, or a small stone piece would chip off, there is a chance the baby might swallow a piece of a necklace. Another concern is a choking hazard that is always associated with anything that would be placed on the baby’s neck, has any type of string associated with it, which it does. And the last concern is that the booklet that comes with this necklace says that the baby is not supposed to be chewing the necklace. It says it works by simply touching the baby’s skin. Not sure how that would work, really. A teething necklace in my understanding is supposed to help as the baby would chew on it, and this one the baby is not supposed to chew it, so I am not sure how it would even work.

The necklace is very pretty, and it is made of authentic amber. I am also happy to see a product from the Baltics enter the North American market. I rarely see anything imported here that I could buy from the Baltics, so it is a nice product to try out, definitely!

I received this product free in exchange for my unbiased review. I was not compensated for my review and all my opinions are my own. One may or may not have the same opinion as myself when reading this.
