This summer we are having a heat wave here. I don’t know about you, but I am always happy to find new ways to protect my skin, and my children’s skin from the sun.
I am Mediterranean sort of, but my husband has Nordic genes, so my children have lighter skin tone than mine. Their skin reacts in a different way to the sun than mine. While I rarely get sun-burnt, my children need to have layers of sunscreen applied to their skins. This can be difficult when they spend a day in the pool, and some or most of the sun screen just washes off. We sometimes re-apply sunscreen lotion, but I find it is not enough.
What I did this summer is I bought all my children special Australian swim suits that cover their whole bodies. Some of the legs are not covered, but that’s all right. Most of the back and shoulders are covered, and those are the parts that get burnt by the sun the most.
I have found one great new product, and I have been fortunate enough to be able to try it, and review it. Now, this product is definitely different. It is in a form of capsules. It provides sun protection uniformly for the whole body.
This product is called Sun Block’d Sun Protection Formula and is an all natural supplement. The difference is that once you take it as a pill, your get protection some every cell in your body, rather than only the areas that are covered with sunscreen lotion.
It would definitely help when sunscreen lotion comes off in water, and to provide protection for the areas that are not otherwise covered.
Regular sunscreen lotion washes off, or gets removed with sweat, whereas this pill will keep you protected.
It is important to remember though that this should not be used in place of regular physical block sun protection. This capsule can give you extra overall assurance that you have sun protection, but cannot be used in place of other sun protection methods like lotions, wide-rimmed hats, sun-protective clothing, or just staying out of the sun in the shade.
It is suggested to take this pill all year round for sun damage protection.
This pill contains polypodium leucotomos, which is a tropical fern found in Central and South America, and that shows potential as adjunct to sunscreen protection. Polypodium Leucotomos which this sun protection pills are based on has demonstrated some protection against photoaging and phototoxicity. There are actually research papers and articles that I have found that confirm that.
However, this is a supplements, and statements made by the company regarding the sun protection have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not to be used in place of sunscreen.
The company making this product is running a 20% off Summer Promo. You can use 20OFFSUN at the Amazon checkout to receive 20% off your order.
