I have been fortunate to be able to review a new book for kids by Giles Smith called “Morning Magic”. I think this book is great! It is a rhyme, it is funny, and it reminds me of my own kids. I think it is fun to read for both parents and children! I often wish my kids had some kind of magic trick ability to clean up their room in a second, otherwise it would just never get done.

The illustrations in the book are gorgeous, and fit very well with the words, and the storyline.

I asked my kids to review this book from their standpoint, and that is what they wrote for me:

Kid 1:

First, Emily needs to get ready for school otherwise she will be late. But, Emily and her pet frog named Paul are having trouble opening her dresser because the dresser is alive and doesn’t want to be opened. When Emily finally gets the right spell to open her dresser and get dressed, she can’t find her hat. When she finds her hat, It turns out it can talk. Emily uses her broom to get to school on time.

Age – 7-8, 3 stars

Kid 2:

This was a good book, I would rate this a 4-star. I like this book, because it  is funny, and it is about magic. i would say this book is for ages 3-7.this book was about a girl who needed to get ready for magic school, and she uses some spells to help her get ready faster. I love this book!

I like this book a lot. I think this is a 5 star book! This book is the first book in the series, so I cannot wait to see what the other books will be like.
