Yesterday I wrote a post about making green tea cupcakes with matcha tea. In order to make those cupcakes we used silicone cupcake molds for the first time.
I have always been struggling with making cupcakes using paper or not using anything, and just baking in the cupcake baking sheet. The problems that I have had with that were sticking of cupcakes to the baking pan, or to the paper. Sometimes I would spray paper with olive oil, and then the paper would get so greasy, you’d put it on a plate, or hold it, and be covered in dripping grease – now cool!
I have always wanted to try out silicone molds, and it worked great! The cupcakes looked bright with the colorful molds, were not at all greasy, or sticky anywhere – I think I have found my solution in cupcake baking!
My daughter was the one who made this batch of cupcakes, and she loved working with this new baking accessory! This was a very fun activity for the day for her!
The cupcakes came out perfect out of the molds. Nothing was stuck to silicone whatsoever. Everything baked perfectly! I think at the end of the day, this is a much more economical solution for frequent cupcake bakers as you don’t need to purchase paper holders, and ultimately will save a lot of money in the long run.
The downside (for me if you like to read what I write about in my reviews) is that now I have another item to wash, whereas with paper you just toss out the used paper. That’s the only disadvantage – the washing of molds.
