I have received three products by La Deessa for a review and to help set up a giveaway!

The first product I am going to write about is Youthful 20% Vitamin C Anti-Aging Elixir by La Deessa. This product is great because it is 72% certified organic, and I try to mostly use organic products where I can.

I have tried to apply this elixir today before my morning make-up routine. It worked quite well. The texture of this elixir is pretty liquid, but not too watery. The bottle has a pipette in it, so it is easy to get the amount that you need for your face, and for how much you like to apply. You don’t need to apply a lot of this product, so a little goes a long way. After this elixir it is advisable to apply a moisturizer.

The ingredients of this elixir are an infusion of herbs, witch hazel, glycerin, jojoba oil, and a number of other products. Generally, the ingredients sound familiar with the addition of Vitamin C that is the main ingredient of this elixir.

Here are the directions of how to apply La Deessa products from their website:
“Use day and night! For optimal results, apply serum twice daily. Incorporate a serum into your day and nighttime facial beautifying routines and stick with it! You will experience greater anti-aging benefits the longer you use a serum. If you choose to apply a serum only once daily do so in the morning. It will help protect against future sun damage, but is definitely not a substitute for a quality sunscreen.

Intelligent Skincare Layering. There is a science to layering skin care products! Serums can be layered with other skin care products without adverse effects or degrading efficacy of the ingredients, up to 3 additional layers. This does not include the toner, if you are using one. Wait for each layer to absorb (dry) completely before applying the next.

Wash and pat skin dry. Never rub or tug your skin.

Day & Night: Apply Toner. If using a toner, start with your toner.

Day & Night: Apply La Deessa “Youthful” Vitamin C Serum.
Apply a thin layer of serum to your face, neck and decollete. The exact amount will vary based on the coverage area. Serums are made of very small molecules so just a few concentrated drops are super-efficient and will absorb quickly and deeply. This serum can be applied to the entire face including the delicate skin over and under the eyes. Wait until the serum is fully absorbed (completely dry) before applying the next layer.

Day & Night: Eye Cream: If using La Deessa “Ageless” Eye Serum, apply it next. Again, wait until it is fully absorbed (completely dry) before applying the next layer.

At Night: If using Retin-A or La Deessa “Limunious” Retinol Serum, apply it next. A Retinol serum should be applied at night because it works best at night, in the dark, during cell turnover. Using it during the day cause result in sensitivity.

Optional: Apply Moisturizer. If using a traditional moisturizer, apply it last. The thicker, heavier ingredients in lotions and creams form a barrier on your skin which is great for locking moisture in, but, they can also lockout active ingredients. This is why your serums should be applied before your moisturizer! This will allow you to increase the benefits of the powerful active ingredients in the underlying serums. Wait for the moisturizer to completely absorb before applying the next skin care layer.

Apply Sunscreen. (If not already including in your moisturizer.)”

I love this elixir, because my skin cannot always repair itself fast from sun damage, and I certainly need help with anti-aging. I love skin care products that help me take care of my skin, and not worry about chemicals used in them.
