This week I got to try a new Tidy Tiger Silicone bib on my baby for a review.

I always need new bibs because the baby gets her bibs very messy all the time. Most of the bibs I have for her are hand-me-downs from her sisters, or from rummage sales we have been to and got bibs at.

I only have one other washable bib that I use, but that is something that I really think is an important quality in a bib. You want the bib to be washable by hand over the sink, other than have to wash it with your laundry every time it gets dirty. I think plastic or silicone bibs are much better than fabric ones because they are easier to clean. All you need to do it just put the bib under water, lightly scrub, and you are done. As long as you do this right after the meal, of course.

Silicone in general is an amazing material because things don’t stick to it. I have just reviewed silicone cupcake molds, and our cupcakes did not stick to the molds. The same way, in a silicone bib, the food will not stick to it as much as it would to your other surfaces.

This particular bib I got to review is great because it has a fun tiger on it. Our baby actually started playing with the tiger thinking it is a toy. It is kind of fun to have a bib that the baby is comfortable in, and can play with.

Another great feature of this bib is that it has a little pocket where the food can collect in, rather than falling all over baby’s diaper or pants, or getting on the seat. I think this is a great feature, as our baby often topples and splashes her plates all over herself. This bib allows to keep the liquids contained other than all over her.

One feature that I find could be improved about this bib is the clasp to connect the bib on the neck to hold. This is the first time I see this type of a connector, and I had a bit of trouble putting it together. I hope it just takes a bit of practice. I am used to seeing more Velcro, or simple ties, so this one is a bit different. But it is made of silicone, so it will have to be a bit different from regular ties or Velcro.

Overall, the bib is great. It is fun, interactive, easy to clean, and traps food very well. Perfect for a messy baby!
