A drum grater is an interesting device to have in the kitchen. This one I got for a review is by Kuuk company. This is one of those devices that some people may find bulky and useless, while others will beg and beg to get it. I grew up in a household that definitely had a drum grater, and needed it. My mother used to bake baklava for living, and baklava requires a lot of grated walnuts. So, if you are constantly baking with nuts, and need them grated, or if you like to use fresh Parmesan cheese, you definitely need one of these devices.

I have received this drum grater for free for a review. I told my mother about it, and though she no longer bakes endless pies and cakes with grated walnuts, she still cooks a lot with nuts, and she started begging me to get her one of these drum graters as she doesn’t have hers any more.

So, while for some people a drum grater would just be something taking up a lot of space on the counter, others will definitely appreciate having it, and not having to chop nuts up with the knife which is a lot of work.

I have to say that from personal experience, grated walnuts taste like air, and will never be those annoying pieces stuck in your teeth.

This particular drum grater is very easy to use, it is a typical design, and is a wonderful machine! I don’t generally use these graters for cheese, but it is fine to do, and then you need to thoroughly clean it. Otherwise, if you plan to use it just for nuts, you don’t need to wash it till your hands bleed. Thorough shaking all the nuts bits and pieces usually does the trick. I would also use a small brush to get the little bits off the grater, but remember that these blades do tend to rust if you get them wet and leave them without immediate drying.
