This is one of the latest books that I have read lately, and this book has been a great discovery for me. I have learned a lot through reading it about all of the newest trends in weight loss, weight management, fitness and dieting, and how to relate to them. I trust that Ilyse and Hallie have done their research before publishing the book, so they can tell me exactly what I need to do to stay healthy and fit. I find that between managing my blog, my family, my baby, and the whole house I just don’t have the time to read over and ponder, and analyze every article and new trend that we see and hear about in nutrition and fitness. I also don’t know that much myself in these fields as I am not a professional dietician.
I hear things here and there, and often these pieces of information and news are actually polar opposites and don’t always make sense. Then I get so confused with it all. Should I drink coffee? How much? What is best to eat for breakfast? Is breakfast eating even ok? What do I do with all the carbs I am consuming? Is low fat out now? Is tea I love ok to drink? It seems like almost every day there are new studies done about coffee. Coffee is good, then coffee becomes bad, then it gets good again, who knows. I like here that I can trust someone knowledgeable to give me that scoop on what to do with my nutritional needs, and how to relate to it all.
I like how all of the scientific topics are broken down for an average not medically inclined person who just needs the facts explained in the common language, and given the advice, instructions and bottomline what to do – this is my kind of book to read, definitely. I often cannot understand all the mumbo-jumbo of medical texts as I am as far from Medicine as you can imagine, and it is just not interesting for me to read. This book is something that I found very exciting, entertaining and informative, just enough to understand the topics, come up to a conclusion for yourself, and get advice from professionals.
Another thing that I love about this book is that it is really easy to read, and is so funny! The authors have an amazing sense of humor, and I have enjoyed reading the book because it is not boring at all, and is full of the funniest things ever!
