This Friday my kids got to paint some masks that we got as part of Smart Art subscription box for them! There were two masks included in the box, together with paints, brushes, elastic for the masks, instructions how to paint and glitter for decoration. The instructions were easy to follow, and presumed making masks that are Mardi Gras themed. However, my kids decided to use their own imagination, and painted the masks just the way they wanted. The paints had all the basic colors included, and so my kids mixed the colors to achieve the needed tone, and went at it. This activity took them about 1.5 hours to complete, and they have actually cleaned up their own mess! Here are some pictures from their process:
This box came with full sized products inside, and the brushes included are probably the best brushes we have ever owned. The masks to color are so well made! This is not a product that you would get in a discount store to color. The quality is quite outstanding, and the fact that the value of the box is $49.95 definitely shows. I am very impressed with the quality of materials, as it is hard to find and know exactly how to get kids busy with an artistic endeavour, if you are not a great artist yourself, or don’t have a lot of imagination to put a kit like this together. I find that getting these kits for my children saves me time, and adds a lot of value to their activity. Otherwise, I often waste so much time just to end up missing some critical part for a project I find in books, and here everything comes pre-set in the box, and there is enough for 2 of my kids which is great as well! They were happy to make the masks, and we were all amazed at the quality of what they came up with – the masks are definitely worth keeping, and showing off at a party later as the artistic workmanship is outstanding on them! Great glitter decorations, and the colors are so bright! I am very happy we got to try out this box, and we will probably get more for our summer time when the kids have more time to spend with little activities.
