Key Lime Pie Recipe with Matcha Green Tea
Cuisine: American Modern
This is a nice recipe to try - completely homemade, bright and delicious, full of antioxidants!
  • Crust
  • 1⅕ cups of graham crackers, crushed up
  • 6 tbsp of unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ tsp of cinnamon
  • ⅓ cups of sugar
  • Filling
  • 2 cans of condensed milk
  • ⅔ cups of fresh lime juice (juice a bag of key limes, they often come pre-packaged in stores)
  • ⅓ cups of sour cream (I used a non-dairy one by Green Valley Organics)
  • ½ tsp of matcha green tea (or more for color and more robust flavor)
  • 2 tsp of lime zest
  1. Mix the ingredients for the crust. Use your pie dish, and form your crust by hand. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 minutes. Take the crust out and let it cool down.
  2. Mix the ingredients for the filling. Use a spatula for mixing, and you may vary the amount of zest and matcha green tea for color, if you prefer to add a bit more. Pour the filling in the cool pie shell, and bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes.
  3. Chill the pie to room temperature, and serve. You may serve it with whipped cream, if you like. Store in the fridge.
