So, another week is ending and here is what I got this past week for free:
This past week I got a new issue of Living, Cooking Light, Parents and Allrecipes. I love all 4 of these magazines, partly because they are great magazines, partly because I am receiving them for free. I have read through some of them, or I have just skimmed through the rest of them, just haven’t had time yet to get into them.
Sat, April 11th and Sun, April 12th – It’s the Spring Savings Event at DiscountMags.com! Over 50 magazines are $4.80 for 48 hours!
My biggest surprise of all was Allrecipes magazine. It is a fairly new publication, based on a website. You would think that since all of those recipes are available online already anyways, what is the point of getting them in print, and even pay money for the subscription. However, after using the magazine, and lots of recipes from it, I disagree. I find that recipes are great, have been tried by lots of home cooks, and the ones featured in the magazine are particularly interesting, beautifully presented, and are very modern, and perfect for the seasons.

Can’t wait to see all of the magazines!
Our girls performed in Whirligig today, and we had fun at Seattle Center. We actually went out for lunch, and the bill came to a whopping $71.00. Later on my husband shopped a bit, and we spent another $22.97 out of budget. Therefore, my budget for the rest of April is $24.64! Now it just got interesting.
What I am going to be doing now is trying to raise whatever I can to add to this budget to survive really! I have three kids and a baby to feed, and I am finding it difficult to do. I guess I should have packed our lunch today instead of going out. In our situation going out should really be reserved for very special occasions…. what can I do, old habits are hard to get rid of. We send more than what we make….
