As we are getting ready for winter months here I sometimes look in the mirror and cannot believe what my skin has been through over the summer. There are areas on my face that are peeling off or flaking, there are some areas that are red and irritated from my diet or allergies. In other words, it is a mess. While there are many ways to work with imperfections, and cover them up with makeup, I prefer to establish a skin care routine during winter where I can use restorative products to try and improve the natural appearance of my skin, and supply the missing nutrients to my skin for it to get restored quickly.
Here is my skin care routine during winter I am trying out this fall:
- One of my biggest issues on my face are is having constantly chapped lips. In all honesty, I find that chapped lips products don’t always help me. I still end up biting my lips off, and walking around with ridiculously chapped lips. I am attempting to bring my lips to a healthy state by making some simple homemade lip scrubs. I have found a recipe based on brown sugar and honey, as well as coconut oil. These are all the ingredients that I always have available at home, so it’s easy to whip up even on a busy day. I am just mixing together a few teaspoons of brown sugar, honey and coconut oil, so this mix is very easy to store, and if it dries out a bit I can just add a bit more honey. This seems to work great so far!
- I am struggling with my hand dryness a lot this year. I am not quite sure what has changed this year in particular but I am noticing a lot of dryness, more than usual. I have decided to try making a coffee based sugar scrub for my hands that basically just includes coffee grounds from my morning coffee that I extract from my machine, twice as much brown sugar and coconut oil as the amount of grounds that I use. This allows me to reuse the coffee after making myself a cup, and get a head start of the day protecting the hands from more dryness due to constant washing and scrubbing things.
- I have been using Organic Doctor® products for my skin to help me save time not having to create my own recipe for every concern. I trust these products because I relate to the ingredients used, and a lot of them are pretty much things that I use in my own cooking or beauty making like Manuka Honey that is used in Organic Manuka Honey Face Mask and Organic Manuka Honey Rescue Cream. I like how these products are able to target skin problems on my sensitive face to deeply condition, restore and nourish my skin, to intensively soothe irritation with hypoallergenic ingredients.
Organic Doctor Manuka Honey is a nutrient rich skin care and hair care range. Manuka Honey, known as the “healing” honey, is produced in New Zealand by bees that pollinate the native manuka bush and is renowned for its soothing properties and ability to restore and hydrate dry and cracked skin. Other than Manuka Honey collection, I got an opportunity to try Organic Snail Gel products like Eye Serum and Facial Serum. These products also have restoring, soothing, nourishing and hydrating properties for facial skin, and improve the appearance of my skin, as well as its elasticity.
Organic Doctor® Snail Gel offers a new generation in skin revitalization care. We use the unique secretion the snail uses to regenerate its own shell to help hydrate and moisturize maturing skin.
